Our aim was to construct a volcano using newspapers and a milk gallon also erupting it.
Method - Fill the gallon with baking soda and vinegar it will create a chemical reaction representing the volcano erupting.
Hypothesis - 12 to 1 ratio, adding vinegar to baking soda gives you an immediate reaction. Adding baking soda to vinegar, the reaction is delayed but then fizzes the same amount. More vinegar is better. A 12 to 1 ratio of vinegar to baking soda caused a fizzing explosion.
Equipment - Newspapers, milk gallon, glue, cardboard and paint.

What does my painting depict? The subject matter of my painting is a rose | How did I create the different tones? I used diluted white acrylic paint to make a thin wash. I brushed this on the painting paper with the black gesso. This created a grey tone. To make lighter, grey tones, I added second and third layers of wash. | How did you compose your subject matter? It’s a centred composition and it’s filled with negative space | Is your subject matter symbolic or does it express an idea? There’s no really a particular idea about my work.
How did you paint the highlights? | Is the negative space important in your painting?
I layered my painting with a brighter white paint | Yes, the negative spaces made my composition being the centre of attraction |
