Research Project - Antarctica

In the past week of social studies, we're working on our research project about sustainability. This is the work that I have done and this is about Antarctica.

Antarctica is made out of thick ice sheets, currently, the ice on Antarctica is melting faster it melts three times faster than before. As the ice melts the water level rises this could affect the low lying nations. We could prevent what’s currently happening such as stoping the co2 emission which is harmful to the environment.

Moons impact on tides - Science

Phases of Moon - Science

In western culture, the four principal phases of the Moon are new moon, first quarter, full moon, and third quarter (also known as last quarter). These are the instances when the Moon's ecliptic longitude and the Sun's ecliptic longitude differ by 0°, 90°, 180°, and 270°, respectively.

Image result for phases of Moon The lunar phase or phase of the Moon is the shape of the directly sunlit portion of the Moon as viewed from Earth. The lunar phases gradually and cyclically change over the period of a synodic month, as the orbital positions of the Moon around Earth and of Earth around the Sun shift.

Science - Seasons

Image result for seasons diagramA season is a division of the year marked by changes in weather, ecology, and the amount of daylight. On Earth, seasons are the result of Earth's orbit around the Sun and Earth's axial tilt relative to the ecliptic plane.

How the season caused?
The seasons are caused by the tilt of the Earth's rotational axis away or toward the sun as it travels through its year-long path around the sun. The Earth has a tilt of 23.5 degrees relative to the "ecliptic plane" (the imaginary surface formed by its an almost-circular path around the sun).

Social Studies - Blast Fishing

‘’Blast Fishing’’

Blast fishing or dynamite fishing is the practice of using explosives to stun or kill schools of fish for easy collection. This often illegal practice can be extremely destructive to the surrounding ecosystem, as the explosion often destroys the underlying habitat that supports the fish.

One reason for the increase in blast fishing is that explosives are cheap and easily accessible to fishers. Bombs are usually sourced from mining, demolition, and road construction enterprises or made at home from fertilizers and diesel.

Surprisingly Blast Fishing is being banned now and if you get caught you’ll get imprisoned or pay for the penalty. O
